Mawanga Nursery School

Through proceeds from the visitor entry fees at one of the local rock art sites, Mawanga, the community has undertaken a wonderful initiative to which they lend tremendous  support.

They have set up a nursery school, aptly named 'Mawanga Rock Art Nursery School', where young children from the area can study without trekking the usual long distance to the nearest school. This is a true testament to communities benefiting from their heritage through responsible tourism.

Recently, a team from TARA visited Mawanga Nursery and presented the children, teachers and parents with a variety of learning tools.
